When choosing grout for glass tile, there are a few things to
keep in mind.
For glass tiles that are uniform in color decide whether you want complimentary or contrasting grout.
Contrasting grout, such as light or white grout with a colored tile will show each individual tile.
Coordinating or complimentary grout will give the appearance of a uniform “Area” rather than draw attention to each individual tile.
There’s no right or wrong answer here, just personal preference. This is a choice you want to get right the first time!
For glass mosaics that are blends of multiple shades, follow the same guidelines. Think of matching the most dominant or neutral color to enhance or pull out that color in the blend of tile.
If you are using glass tile in a DIY project, be sure to ask about epoxy grout and installation for glass. After you go to the trouble of installing it, you won’t be happy if you scratch the glass with grout!
